Ethan's First Week

Mr. Ethan Wilson Dozois

We have survived our first week after Ethan's arrival. Everything has been better than my expectations. Ethan's day consist of eating, sleeping, hiccuping, squeaking and cuddling. Oh...to be a baby again!

Ethan had his first check-up with the pediatrician, Dr. Russell, on Saturday. He weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz. He only has 2 ounces to gain to return to his birth weight. It is normal for babies to return to their birth weight 10-14 days after birth. Ethan is currently eating 2 oz of breast milk at each feeding (every 2-3 hrs). According the the pediatrician a newborn typically eats 1/2-1 oz of milk/formula at each feeding. Ladies and gentlemen we have a little piggy on our hands! Since he is eating so much the Dr. told us to let him sleep through the night if he wants to. Ethan is typically waking at 1:30, 3 and 6 to eat/poop. Not too bad, but it is tiring to wake up all of the time. Dr. Russell also commented on how mild mannered baby Ethan is. I feel so blessed because he really is such a good baby. He cries if he has poopy pants, is hungry or when we are dressing him. That is it! I hope I don't jinx myself writing/saying that out loud!

We had visits from Grandma Kathi, Grandpa Ron, Aunt Jolyn and Taylor last weekend. Here are some new photos of our family:
